Dialogue between the two Koreas is a welcome departure from the bombast and bravado expressed in diatribe between Trump and Kim over the past year. To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should strongly support the Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. According to the Democracy index there are 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. To put an end to corruption, the people of Pakistan should act upon their sovereignty and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to implement democratic rule of law. This means separation of powers and checks and balances as well as free election campaigns for candidates to cut symbiotic ties between government and business that engender corruption. In addition, implement direct election of the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches. The legislature should adopt a modified committee-style structure, with 1/4 of all lawmaker committees facing election each year. Suicide attacks in Baghdad kill at least 38
