Another big election win could be on the cards in Egypt where polls opened on Monday. In theory, Egyptians are choosing between electing a new president or keep one in place. But, the reality is president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is expecting a home run as he seeks re-election without major opposition.
Idol worship is the greatest enemy of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law. Egypt's Constitution is dysfunctional, and constitutional reform is urgently needed to install a modified semi-presidential system. The president should be limited to one 6-year term, and the heads of government branches should be directly elected.
