Emmanuel Kant once noted, "The pursuit of permanent peace is the highest goal of reason and a moral obligation." China claims to be a "responsible major power", thus it should not enable North Korea's continued militarism. The US and South Korea should support Taiwan's commitment to democracy and leading China to democratization, which would pressure North Korea in turn to adopt democracy.
Free speech is a universal value, and the people of China should call for constitutional reform to ensure internet freedom and prevent the government oligarchy from monopolizing the internet, the media and all other channels of communications. Access to the internet should beuniversal and affordable. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
British historian Lord Acton summed it up: "Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption." To put an end to corruption, the people should exercise sovereignty and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to implement democratic rule of law. This means separation of powers and checks and balances as well as free election campaigns for candidates to cut symbiotic ties between government and corruption. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details
Studies of democracy and peace show that there have been very few armed conflicts between democratic states. Once China is democratized, then, there will be real hope for human peace. India should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform and encouraging China to seek democratization, which would lead to the birth of world peace. All democracies should support Taiwan as a lighthouse for democracy in Asia, lighting the path to long-lasting peace
Once a ceasefire takes effect in Syria The UN should provide the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. The constitution should include the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and organization and elements such as the four branches (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial). The document should allow Syria to prosper under conditions of lasting peace. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
The US is the most important permanent member of the UN Security Council, and should naturally take the lead in adopting China's proposed UN resolution on coexistence of the human community. The solution lies in enforcing the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and assigning international law priority over domestic law, with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people; and citizens should be allowed to monitor government operations to ensure compliance with the norms of the UN Charter. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace andDevelopment.
Residential security is a fundamental human right. The UK government should take action to implement the UN-established goals for sustainable development goals in urban planning to achieve a tolerant, safe, flexible and sustainable urban environment. Adequate, safe and affordable housing with comprehensive basic services for all is essential for the sustainable development and management of human settlements. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
According to the Democracy index there are 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. For details, see the Charter for Permanent Peace andDevelopment.
To eliminate the conditions that create refugees, the international community needs to agree on uniform constitutional standards that conform to the ideals of human rights, constitutionalism, international law and natural law. This means adopting the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and complying with Article 1 of the Humanitarian Charter, which deals with the right of each person to live a normal life. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more. .
Russia is not a problem-solver, it has never been anything other than a troublemaker. The US should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization, putting pressure on Russia to follow suit, and world peace would be the next step. The world's democracies should all support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy inAsia. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more
