With the launch, North Korea claims it has achieved its goal of becoming a nuclear state.
The world's democracies should all support Taiwan's efforts to carry out constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. Doing so would inspire the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization and pressure North Korea in turn to adopt real democracy – leading to the birth of world peace. Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the path to peaceful development for China.
